& Ready

About Them

Head Strong & Ready is a San Diego based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides online psychological and mental health services exclusively for military members, veterans, and their families. This organization serves the states of California, Texas, and Idaho.

Since the military does not have the internal capacity to treat all of its mental health patients, it refers those patients it cannot treat to a limited number of private providers outside of the military. One of these providers is Head Strong & Ready.

How Does This Organization Impact Mental Health?

The Link Between Military Service and Mental Health

Unique Challenges

Military members and their families may experience challenges such as frequent relocations, deployments, separation from loved ones, career transitions, or exposure to stressful experiences. These experiences can affect emotional well-being and highlight the importance of accessible support.

Support

Seeking support is an important part of maintaining mental wellness. Counseling, peer support, and other mental health resources can help individuals navigate stress, process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships, and build healthy coping strategies.

Access

Barriers such as busy schedules, geographic distance, or frequent moves can make it difficult to access mental health services. Virtual counseling and telehealth can help make care more accessible by allowing individuals and families to connect with licensed professionals from wherever they are.
