This organization helps older adults in poverty live healthy and fulfilling lives by providing nutritious meals, affordable housing, and comprehensive support services.
Serving Seniors was founded in 1970 to support and uplift low-income older adults aged 60 and above using an innovative model of whole-person, wraparound support including meals, housing, health and social services, and lifelong learning.
Since then, Serving Seniors has become the largest provider of meals to seniors in the county, and one of the only organizations in the nation providing such a broad base of services to vulnerable, at-risk older adults. Now, Serving Seniors provides nearly 2 million meals, constantly supporting and uplifting our community.
Public health professionals provide health education, vital signs monitoring, blood pressure clinics, and chronic disease management.

Access to nutritious food, stable housing, healthcare, and financial resources can reduce stress and support both physical and emotional well-being. When these needs are met, individuals are better able to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Physical activity, lifelong learning, creative hobbies, and community involvement can help support emotional health and provide opportunities for purpose, connection, and personal growth throughout life.
